Day 46: Chivalry isn't dead
Today taught me in more than one day that chivalry isnt dead. This man is one of the examples...He was the conductor on the train going to NYC and at EVERY lone female passenger he would tip his hat...well done sir!

Day 34: To Write Love on Her Arms
I've said it before and I will say it again. There is a benefit to working for a college as I get the opportunity to hear people speak that I wouldn't normally get the chance to. Tonight was Jamie Tworkowski who founded the "Two Write Love on Her Arms" campaign (http://www.twloha.com/) to raise awareness and bring to light people who suffer from depression, addiction, self harm, and suicidal ideations.
Jamie was so cool and just listening to him you could hear and feel his passion for what he does!

Day 30: meeting an inspiring woman
What do you do on your vacation? I go to sexual violence awareness events...okay so I may have a bias to this event but...that's beyond my point. The point is: I got to meet Angela Rose tonight who is the founder of PAVE (promoting awareness victim empowerment) she is taking her rape and turning it into the fuel that drives her work. I was in awe...

Day 28: Mail is fun...mail from friends is even better!
I love getting mail...especially when I dont expect it! I got this envelope in the mail from my good friend Efi who lives in Greece. Earlier this month we had been talking on facebook and she mentioned that she was chaperoning the trip to Athens. I asked if she could send me a postcard so that I can add it to my bulletin board...I wasnt expecting so many or the sweet little post-it that TOTALLY made my day!

Day 26: Who knew you could be embarrassed at church?
Today at church I was accepted as a member of Ewing Presbyterian Church. Elizabeth (the Reverend) was so worried about saying my last name correctly that she ended up giving the entire congregation a lesson on how to say my last name...I was just a tad red when she finished the introduction.

Day 25: Yes...that is a giant tooth
Dont worry...your eyes are not lying to you. That is a giant tooth sculpture. There is a sculpture garden near the train station here in New Jersey and everytime I pass it I giggle. I mean...it's a tooth

Day 25: Someone is finding humor in budget cuts
Because I work in higher education there is always the fear of budget cuts. So the exercise of "doing more with less" is always something we need to work on. This was actually found in the mail at Indiana State last year but I came across it when I was going through my phone pictures...it never fails to make me giggle

Day 24: Robins
Robins always make me think of home and my grandparents. We would look for robins to signify that Spring was coming...they would usually return around my grandma's birthday. Ever since she passed away, regardless of the time of year, on bad days...in some way shape or form-a robin crosses my path and makes me smile. I think it's her way of reminding me that life goes on and I will get through whatever I was worried/stressed/upset about

Day 21: Living on a college campus can be a lifting experience
At one point over spring break someone went through campus and put wings and little magnets in the hand of all the pedestrian signs on campus...no one knows who...it makes me smile whenever I see it.

Day 20: Duty nights are good for something...
Being on call limits what you can do on the weekend...but I am happy to say I was productive in someway :-) I managed to make some jewelery that I have been designing since I got back from Egypt and made extenders so that I can wear another piece that was a gift from my grandmother.

Day 19: Chatting with friends is always a good time
It's funny how much technology plays in our lives. I will NEVER hate technology as it has allowed me to keep in touch with people that I've never actually met but consider close friends.

Day 18: Cello Music...enough said
I've reciently come to really enjoy cello music. I ended up finding this artist on facebook and "like"d his fan page a while ago. I reciently decided to buy his CD which has been on ALMOST repeat since I got it late last week. The chapstick is in there because well...I dunno...it was lying there when I took the picture :-)
